Amec Foster Wheeler Senior Material Management Engineer in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Senior Materials Management Engineer for its ZADCO UZ750 project in UAE. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;

  • Supervises, monitors and assigns expediting personnel for specific projects to maintain or improve deliveries from suppliers by effectively utilizing staff resources.

  • Make a preliminary contact with Vendors by telephone and email and obtain information from Vendors concerning their job schedules and current job status

  • Immediately after the issue of the Purchase Order arrange the filing system which shall progressively include the following documents/records

  • Correspondence to Vendors

  • Expedite Vendors by email and telephone to achieve delivery of materials and documentation in accordance with purchase orders, project schedules and Vendor’s production programmes.If and when necessary, the Material Management Coordinatormay request assistance from Project Team on all the expediting problems of greater importance which could arise in the Vendor's job development and that could jeopardize the deliveries

  • Review Vendor’s monthly progress reports and highlight/discuss any issues with the Project Team.

  • Schedule and coordinate the shop expediting visits on items based on their criticality to ensure the project schedule is maintained.

  • Ensure that the document package for Expediters is properly prepared and updated.

  • Participate in the regular project review meetings to keep the Project Team updated on the progress status of all orders, promote and monitor the implementation of any recovery action that may be considered appropriate.

  • Receive and review the Expediting Reports.

  • Distribute the Expediting Summary to all the parties involved as per the established Project distribution matrix.

  • Distribute the PO Material Status report and Material Delivery Status report as per the established Project distribution matrix.

  • Monitor the performance of Vendors, both from quality and delivery stand point.

  • Deal with Vendors for any problem related to fabrication or delivery.

  • Expedite the issue of material and test certificates and inspection data books by Vendors, and distribute them as per the established project distribution matrix.

  • Expedite Vendors on the issue of shipping documents.

  • Check the shipping documents.

  • Prepare and issue the Shipping Release Notice.

  • Interface with site organization for any problems related to material received at site.

  • Bachelor’s degree involving major study in Business Administration but could be offset by sufficient relevant experience

  • Minimum 15 years in oil and gas related work

  • Minimum 10 years experience in material management

  • Experience in working with Freight forwarders is preferred
