Job Summary

The role of the Reservations Supervisor is to monitor, supervise and train the Reservations Agents in maintaining and delivering high levels of standards according to Marriot policy and procedure. Assist the Revenue Management Executive in the operation and requirements of the department. In the absence of the Revenue Management Executive, to be able to take on responsibility for the Reservations Department in conjunction with the Director of Revenue Management.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To ensure the Reservations Agents are filling the responsibilities as outlined in their job descriptions.

  2. Supervising the day to day operations of the reservation department ensuring that the work load is fairly distributed and completed in a timely and professional manner.

  3. Be fluent on all hotel products and services as well as the local area.

  4. To maximize rooms revenue through the conversion of telephone calls into sales, utilize effective up-selling techniques and confirm reservations to support the revenue management strategies laid-out by the Director of Revenue Management in the hotel

  5. Be fully conversant with all market segments and rate plans used across all distribution channels.

  6. To understand and adhere pricing strategies, rate restrictions, hurdles and availabilities.

  7. Understand Best Rate Guarantee compliance.

  8. Identify Sales opportunities through individuals, Corporate Accounts, Wholesalers and Travel Management companies

  9. Liaise daily with the Revenue Management Executive and Director of Revenue Management regarding business on the books and the strategy for the day

  10. Maintain accuracy and cleanliness of the PMS Database by ensuring market segmentation is accurate for each reservation and merge guest profiles as necessary.

  11. To assist Revenue Management Executive with the duties required for the smooth running of the department; non-guaranteed bookings, no arrivals, departmental roster, training.

  12. To adhere to all company credit policies to ensure that all revenue expected will be received and comply with all hotel policies relating to reservations.

  13. To conduct on-going training of new, existing and cross-training employees

  14. Ensure that the department is well aware of changes, new procedures, hotel facilities etc.

  15. To certify that all Reservations Agents are adhering to hotel standards and that these standards are implemented at all times.
