Hotel Overview:

The luxury Fairmont Abu Dhabi Marina Resort will have 563 hotel rooms/suites, 249 Fairmont branded residences and 9 F&B; outlets along with large function facilities.

All of this will reside in two iconic towers which meet in a magnificent arch. The distinctively designed skyscraper, close to the Marina Mall at Abu Dhabi Breakwater (a manmade area of ocean walkways) will offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, the Corniche and the city’s famous skyline. The Fairmont Marina Resort will feature nine restaurants and lounges, Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge situated atop at the bridge between the hotel and residences, state-of-the-art meeting and function space, and a business center. Leisure offerings include an infinity swimming pool, kids club, fitness center, watersports center and Willow Stream spa.

Director, Marketing Communications

**Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Sales and marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Maintains good working relationships with local and international media.

  • Maintains current media lists: local and international travel, leisure, lifestyle, entertainment, business and food editors.

  • Develops all Marketing relationships & collaborates with local businesses for partnership opportunities.

  • Manages relationship with PR & graphic design companies.

  • Develops all marketing collateral for F&B;, spa, leisure, banqueting.

  • Instrumental in securing high end luxury events both externally and internally.

  • Assists in managing and hosting of luxury Virtuoso, Signature Travel & Pro Travel visitors and relationships.

  • Joins all Public Relations conference calls with the corporate office and associated PR offices in key markets.

  • Distributes media placements for hotel through news releases, personal contacts and via PR network of offices.

  • Drives social media efforts in conjunction with Brand office and PR company.

  • Ensures imagery and descriptions online match brand standards.

  • In conjunction with Director of Revenue develops and promotes business and leisure travel promotions and syndicates release to press and/or target audience.

  • Looks into sponsorship proposals and evaluates the potential prior to presenting the case to Senior Management.

  • In conjunction with the Sales Coordinator maintains a photo/electronic library of imagery and ensures that these include key personnel.

  • Maintains and update the hotel’s website and hotel’s pages on RHR website

  • Arranges photography of VIP guests and maintain archives

  • Collates all online and offline public relations coverage and completes the monthly Public relations report for both hotels.

  • Maintains updated hotel press kit to include news releases, ExCo biographies & photos

  • Assists Director of Sales and Marketing in developing and producing sales support materials for hotel (newsletters, brochures, mailers, promotion materials, in-room information, guides, etc.)

  • Assists Director of Food and Beverage in development and production of signage, menus, and other F&B; collateral materials including the monthly food and beverage program.

  • Monitors all printed materials for adherence to corporate identity standards.

  • Coordinates all special events and promotions and maximize publicity (examples – Wine Dinners, Charity events, New Year’s Eve, etc).

  • Evaluates request for hotel donations of services/financial participation from civil, social and charitable organizations; respond to requests, coordinate reservations and preparation of gift certificates.

  • Coordinates joint fundraisers and other community promotions.

  • Serves as hotel’s representative on community events.

  • Assists with creation and implementation of advertising when and where necessary.

  • Contributes to employee newsletter, announcements and other printed materials published by Human Resource department

  • Core member of the crises management team and spokesperson.

Employee Status


Bachelor Degree, Business School and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred.

Fluency in English language; ability to speak and present clearly and effectively.
