Position

The Financial Controller is directly involved with all the finance department responsibilities of Parfums Christian Dior Orient. The company supports the distribution of Parfums Christian Dior, MAKE UP FOR EVER, BENEFIT COSMETICS, Acqua Di Parma and Loewe Parfums for Middle East, Levant, African and Indian Markets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial closing related to P&L and Balance Sheet

  • Monitor, challenge and support for all main expenses type from company (LI, POSM, Payroll, CAPEX etc…)

  • Participate to the budgetary process and business plans

1) Manage the Operational Finance functions

  • Preparation of the monthly closing process to reach trustworthy closing reporting (all countries)

  • Production of monthly financial statements: Balance Sheet, P&L and cash plan

  • Entry and validation of key figures in reporting tools: PCD / LVMH / Chalhoub

  • Production of all required alternatives reporting from headquarter and local management

  • Analysis, recommendation and follow up of action plan of all key expenses to challenge stakeholders and investment decisions using relevant report and analysis: Marketing and Merchandising expenses; Payroll: Beauty consultants and Back Office; Point of Sales Materials; CAPEX and other amortizations; Logistics Costs; G&A

  • Perform the data entry coding to be provided to accounting department for accurate P&L records

  • Monitor AP and AR with reports and action plans

  • Perform any required ad-hoc studies upon specific needs of the management

2) Participate to the Budget, Revision and Strategic plans

  • Lead the data collection of all required inputs to build the P&L

  • Prepare templates to allow each team leader to produce data entry for financial forecasts

  • Challenge and validate scenario with department managers and support Finance Manager to evaluate the proposed equation

3) Act on the business development

  • Assist local teams in each countries to get ‘tool kit’ required to perform closing and LVMH standards reporting

  • Coordinate the data availability to produce required dashboard for investment decision making process

4) Be involved in the Organisation, IT & Processes

  • In coordination with the Finance Manager, participate to controlling and accounting best practices roll-out all over the middle-east

  • Lead the pricing process to ensure good coordination between Benefit and PCD Orient support services to guarantee the price positioning in all countries at all time.

5) Challenge & Support Cross Functional

  • Work closely for the development of the company with all other departments (Sales, training, merchandising marketing) in a support & challenge approach

  • Lead the implementation of Group internal procedure best practices

  • Control and challenge T&E claims to propose and amend rules and best practices when required in coordination with Benefit HR management

    Profile
  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance & Controlling and a first successful professional experience in finance and controlling are a must.

  • Previous experiences in the Middle East and/or the Cosmetics / Luxury industry are a strong advantage.

  • Fluent in English; French and Arabic can be a significant advantage but is not compulsory
