BT Finance Manager in United Arab Emirates

Key Purpose of Role

Leading financial reporting, internal controls, treasury activities and statutory compliance functions; ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and corporate polices; liaise with Corporate Auditor, External Auditor, Bankers and Tax authorities; drive business process improvement projects with Share Service Center; provide insight to country finance manager, RP&A, tax and regional team on financial performance, balance sheet risk, internal control weakness, statutory filing status, ad hoc project status and pending tax matters; provide advisory and support service to finance and non-finance community

Key Responsibilities

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and corporate polices.

  • Manage the monthly end closing process timely and good quality manner.

  • Ensure the compliance of the monthly financial reporting, accounts reconciliations with IFRS and corporate policies to ensure the integrity of external and internal reporting.

  • Corporate with external auditors and tax advisers through the region to ensure the compliance with the local regulations.

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget , financial forecasts and report variances.

  • Ensure Tax filings & Tax return across the region are accurate and deadlines are met.

  • Coordinate with Treasury & SSC on Cashflow forecasting and Cash Net Working Capital.

  • Ensure that balance sheet reviews are completed and actions are taken to clear outstanding items on a timely basis and conduct full reviews periodically.

  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

  • Ensure risk limitation and financial reporting integrity within the business.

  • Provide insight to country finance manager, RP&A, tax and regional team on financial performance, P&L, balance sheet risk, internal control weakness, statutory filing status, ad hoc project status and pending tax matters.

  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.

  • Corporate with external auditors and tax advisers through the region to ensure the compliance with the local regulations.

  • Maximizing cash collection by working with business & ensuring accurate provision for bad debt.

  • Ensure revenue recognition and adequate revenue assurance process in place and been uploaded on GFP for correct customers and project codes.

  • Provide professional financial support services to the non-Finance community and HQ with useful analysis/explanation of business plans & financial modelling.

  • Ensure accurate forecasting in collaboration with operations to provide the variance analysis commentary with forecast and budget.

  • Support Risks and Opportunity of the business for decisions making and ensure mechanism are in place in case of slippage to give heads up to business for corrective plan.

  • Work with the RP&A team in AMEA region to develop effective reporting and financial analysis in line with best practice in UK.

  • Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Ensure continuous improvement for reporting process and timely heads up to allow management for corrective actions and decision making.

  • Responsible for streamlining and standardizing all financial processes across the region to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Managing & supporting all ad hoc requests related to MENA LT & AMEA.
