Job Summary

Responsible for providing administrative and research support to the Market Sales Team as well as proactively researching sales leads to achieve an agreed number of appointments for the off property Sales Team and managing a portfolio of telesales accounts to an agreed target.

Identifies new business leads in conference, group and transient markets and researches these for the off property team and hotels as required

Assists Market Sales team, promotions, direct mailings, assists with the preparation of hospitality events, sales trips and familiarization trips.

Responsible for handling phone enquiries for Market Sales Organization and managing flow through of relevant enquiries to Off Property team and hotels

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a sales and administrative role

  • An understanding of sales processes; can effectively make research calls to new and existing clients and secure appointments for the cluster sales team
  • Possesses excellent telephone skills
  • A basic understanding of contractual agreements and legal implications.

Sales and Revenue Management

  • Researches new clients through sales tools including SFAweb, internet and market information, secures an agreed number of appointments for the Off Property Sales Team.
  • Will manage a maximum of 10-20 telesales accounts for the cluster, will be required to liaise with Cluster and National Sales as required.
  • Secures 8 appointments per week for off property sales team
  • Correctly inputs all research calls made into SFAweb in accordance with the SFA standard operating procedures and brand guidelines
  • Updates the monthly tracking tools and other sales reports as required.
  • Manages the administration of cluster client corporate hospitality events including booking tickets, confirming clients, organising transport and liaising with suppliers.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting using Marriott systems including all data compliance reports.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by Market Director of Sales
  • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures
  • Working hours will be 40 hours per week
  • Participates on Global Sales Organization account teams as needed.
  • Assists with new hire orientation and appropriate new hire training to ensure associates can successfully perform their job.
  • Utilizes MarrWeb for resources and information (Training Energizers).
  • Leverages available eTools (eRooming Lists, eProposals).
  • Conducts site inspections.
  • Creates contracts as required.

Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensure Marriott Customer Service Standards are met; creates a positive example for guest relations.
  • Establishes clear expectations for customers and properties throughout the sales process.
  • Transfers accurate, complete and timely information to operating departments at the properties.
  • Effectively resolves guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Brings issues to the attention of property leadership team as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
