JOB SUMMARY

The Expert Manager leads a set of digital field marketing activities for the legacy Starwood portfolio within the Middle East & Africa continent. He/she is responsible for driving market share and share of voice originating through areas of expertise such as tactical marketing, digital advertising and content optimization, as well as for evolving reports and tools to enhance value proposal to hotels. The Expert Manager collaborates with Market Managers and Specialists in the broader team to define hotel/market level strategies and apply tactics.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, or related major
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role with a key focus on strategic digital marketing (agency experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of the digital environment as a distribution, marketing and engagement channel and experience with direct-response campaigns with external web agencies
  • Good understanding of and capability to lead conversion rate optimization, brand awareness and attention, content marketing and website merchandising efforts
  • Previous team leadership experience preferred
  • Driven by numbers and analytics, research-oriented with strong report creation skills; prior experience using website content management systems a plus
  • Organized, detail-oriented and deadline-sensitive; takes initiative and anticipates needs
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
  • Experience managing external vendors (e.g. Google, Facebook) and agencies (e.g. media, creative) CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Areas of Expertise

  • Own a set of expertise areas, lead the strategy in said areas and work closely with market clusters to maximize market share and share of voice contribution to markets and hotels
  • Support Director on special projects and team-wide efforts
  • Develop personal expertise on an ongoing basis, research industry/market trends and ensure latest standards and best practices are applied
  • The Expert Manager contributes to the overall performance of the team, its areas/markets and participating hotels

Relationships & Processes

  • Initiate, lead and/or manage conversion campaigns for hotels and markets through an array of channels and digital media, including but not limited to email marketing, pay-per-click advertising, display networks and programmatic advertising
  • Develop knowledge and work with vendors and agencies to improve conversion measurements, most notably on the F&B front
  • Manage relationship with key vendors to drive scalability of efforts and implementation consistency (e.g. table reservations) and platform development oriented at better tracking/conversion
  • Own relationship with media agencies to exploit efficiencies, scale efforts and reduce cost
  • Own all in-house advertising processes, including but not limited to campaign review, hotel billing, briefing, etc.

Drive Market Share

  • Initiate, lead and/or manage conversion campaigns for hotels and markets through an array of channels and digital media, including but not limited to email marketing, pay-per-click advertising, display networks and programmatic advertising
  • Research and A/B test conversion optimization through best practices around landing pages, objective and strategies, omni-channel approaches, collaboration between hotel, continent, former division and global teams

Drive Share of Voice

  • Initiate, lead and/or manage awareness campaigns for hotels and markets through an array of channels and digital media (see above), focusing on segmental departments including but not limited to restaurants and lounges, spa, meetings, weddings, residences, etc.
  • Complement awareness/search initiatives with regular and consistent search engine optimization efforts to deliver consolidated environment, increase quality scores and SERP rankings, including map listings Reporting/Planning/Budgeting
  • Deliver monthly continent, areas/market and hotel level benchmark reports on performance for all areas of expertise, provide recommendations to internal and hotel teams on how to maximize campaigns and efforts
  • Evolve reporting tools for internal and hotel teams on an ongoing basis, ensuring continuity and accuracy

Assist internal and hotel teams in the conception of advertising strategies and media plans, ensuring soundness, efficiency and alignment.
