JOB DESCRIPTION: PROJECT RISK SUPERVISOR

The Project Risk Supervisor is the central point of focus for risk identification, administration and management of the risk program during the study phases or construction phase on projects. The Risk supervisor has professional experience or recognised qualifications in risk management with knowledge of various risk analysis tools. The candidate will ideally have broad experience in construction or mining with an understanding of business, execution and operation risk.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Bechtel Petrofac Joint Venture is providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services to deliver a 2 M tons per year Alumina Refinery in Abu Dhabi's Khalifa Industrial Zone.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The role forms part of the Project leadership and plays an important part in the project meeting budget and schedule targets. The role reports to a senior level project manager (Project Manager or Project Director) with a direct link to the M&M risk leadership.

The successful candidate is well organized, a 'people' person with strong verbal and written communication skills. Also able to drive organisational change, create a focus for the team on risk and continuous improvement, quickly grasp underlying structures of the business and gain cooperation, all with a minimum of fuss.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

RISK

  • Deliver to the Project Execution Plan and the Project Risk Management Plan

  • Liaise with BPJV and client leaders in all aspects of the project risk management process

  • Facilitate risk identification workshops

  • Conduct risk analysis and evaluation activities. Maintain the risk register in Bechtel ARM program.

  • Ensure the review of risk activities is performed in accordance with project requirements

  • Coordinate the timely delivery of risk status reports to project management

  • Mentor projects leaders in risk awareness

  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and risk working group with the Company

  • Provide training on the risk management process and risk assessment techniques to project staff

  • Manage the closure of the project risk program

  • Liaise between Bechtel and client to ensure that all project risks are either closed or transferred to the Commissioning and Operations teams.

  • Act as the custodian for project risk management processes

  • Experience in Six Sigma is advantageous iin support of project Continuous Improvement Program activities which complement the Risk Management program.
