Mission:

Within a region covering the Middle East area you assist the commercial team in place in overall pricing, commercial activities & cargo flow in order to maximize revenue and profitability for the lines concerned.

Reporting directly to the Regional Director in Dubai you also monitor and control agents’ costs in order to provide an exact view of the financial assets of the company.

Responsibilities:

You monitor the commercial performance in revenue and volume of the Middle East agencies on the designated services/trades.

You play an active role in pricing, space control, cargo flow coordination, contribution analysis, vessel profile management and market development.

On the designated services/trades, you follow up directly with key accounts and set up the commercial budget.

You conduct market studies and competitor analysis and report on a regular basis to the local management, share results and make recommendations.

To increase efficiency of our processes, you are fully responsible for maintaining/ developing tools.

Within the Finance part, you perform a systematic analysis of the operational lines costs (shipping costs and handling costs) as well as logistical costs for the Gulf region (beyond reporting currently in place).

You perform regular controls on agencies by identifying which are the most costly using relevant KPI.

In addition, you develop and optimize the process of reducing the variable costs in the area, including THC (Terminal Handling Charges) and D & D (Demurrage & Detention).

Regularly you make suggestions which could improve the local revenue.

Specific Requirements and skills:

According to French law, the VIE is only open to European nationals aged between 18 and 28.

You possess a postgraduate level degree, preferably in finance or international business and you are fluent in English.

You are a self-starter and proactive person, with the ability to deal with difficult and complex issues and work with people at different levels across the business environment. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong managerial potential.

Some previous sales/commercial experience within the shipping/transport industry is preferred and some work experience in the Middle East will be an additional asset which would allow you to fully succeed in this mission, which would be an excellent starting point for a career within our company.
