Senior Channel Marketing Specialist - Job Description:

Responsible for the management and coordination of all marketing activities in the Africa region specifically. Managing Independent Resellers, Retail & Online Marketing. Execute activities to drive maximum ROI for WDC products in that region. Demonstrate a clear understanding of all channels and should understand all customer needs. Should be business oriented while driving activities with the sales and cross functional teams.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required

Responsibilities:

  • Support Sales Organization by managing marketing programs & activities that will help achieve sales targets, volume, and market share by developing effective marketing programs for Distributor, Retailer, Etailer and VAR accounts in support of these goals

  • Drive in-store merchandising efforts with key retailers

  • Cross merchandising WDC products in other areas of the stores

  • Execute POP, end-caps, projects, review flyers and messaging of products.

  • Complete special projects, reports & analysis as needed

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with all channel partners and WDC sales, product marketing, marcom, business operations, and PR staff.

  • Manage the coordination of all trade shows, sales trainings, marketing collaterals, incentive programs.

  • Driving activities in coordination with sales team for channel customers.

  • Responsible for reporting management & reporting of channel promotions, including ROI

  • Initiate purchase orders for all activities, requiring Finance/Marketing approvals.

  • Oversee and ensure well-maintained documentation from field marketing services.

  • Administer overall Pre Approval management system for region if necessary also coordination with various agencies and customers for activities conducted across various regions.

  • Responsible for reporting management & reporting of channel promotions, including ROI

  • Initiate purchase orders for all channel programs, requiring Finance/Marketing approvals.

  • Hold and conduct weekly review on promotions with sales team.

  • Prepare and present an in-depth quarterly analysis of all promotional activities from prior quarter by region. Compare results to prior year highlighting cost, ROI, top sellers by product, by customer and other trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent. Must be technically literate and proficient

  • 7+years business experience Minimum 2-3 Years of Africa dedicated experience. Involvement in marketing-oriented projects strongly preferred

  • Consumer/technology brand or FMCG experience preferred.

  • Candidates require past exposure to African markets in marketing and/or sales role, particularly to consumer/retail or channel segments. Should have travelled to countries in East, West and Southern Africa.

  • Aptitude to understand complexity of Africa Market. Ability to carry out task individually – be self-motivated and have attitude of taking initiatives

  • Should have out of the box thinking abilities and think of new ways of marketing

  • Good knowledge of business plan and marketing plan disciplines, such as Budget Planning, ROI monitoring, liaising with Sales Managers on daily basis

  • Strong experience in building and execution of marketing assets and channel programs in the assigned area based on the projects. Strong Analytical skills with ability to implement : results orientated

  • Market Activation knowledge specific to traditional channel in Africa
