AECOM is seeking an experienced Principle Engineer, Bridges to be based in Dubai, UAE. The Principle Engineers will be responsible for the following;
Taking the lead in the production of Bridge projects in Dubai.
Provide the technical lead to the Bridges Team in Dubai.
Implement AECOM’s plan from Bridges perspective in Dubai.
Maintaining client networks and managing client relationships within Dubai
Keeping abreast of industry developments within Dubai, the wider UAE region and across the Middle East geography
Controlling of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Championing innovation and demonstrating technical leadership.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the implementation of innovative solutions and participate actively with clients and stakeholders in the project delivery process.
Manage the implementation of effective work planning and project control systems for Bridges projects within Dubai.
Manage and implement staff changes necessary to improve operational efficiency.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Implementation and ensure compliance with AECOM policies, systems and procedures on all structural engineering projects in Dubai
Implementation and ensure compliance with AECOM Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures on all buildings projects in Dubai.
Maintain client networks and manage client relationships in Dubai.
Ensure client satisfaction with AECOM performance through regular visits and client management activities
Manage financial performance of Bridges projects by delivering as per the planned targets, identifying and implementing operating efficiencies
Review with the Project Directors, Project Managers and his/her line manager the technical and financial performance of projects on a regular basis, and implement necessary measures to mitigate losses.
Support the Bridges, UAE & Oman Leader and Country Directors in strategic business development and Global Business Line pursuits across the region.
Manage the Bridges business development activities in coordination with the UAE & Oman Team Leaders and Country Directors
Keep abreast of industry developments globally
Support the UAE & Oman Bridges Leader in the preparation and delivery of the Dubai business plan
People:Engage appropriate personnel within the Dubai market in order to deliver successfully.
Must haveminimum of 15+years of hands on experience in Bridges.UAE/ME projects experience would be preferred.
Must have worked at a similar level on major civil infrastructure projects.
Understand the commonly used forms of contract and the implication to drawings produced on each project as per client requirements.
Shows willingness and enthusiasm, actively contributes.
Supports colleagues, seen as a team leader.
Verifies that work carried out is correct as per client requirement.
Knowledge sharing to junior Technicians.
Highly motivated over 15 years of relevant industry experience.
Chartered Engineer (MIStructE, or C.Eng. from UK) or Professional Engineer (PE from USA) is highly preferred.
Master degree in structural engineering is preferred.
PMP is preferred.
Significant technical design experience for different types of bridges including prestressed concrete bridges and steel bridges.
Full knowledge of the bridge design codes in the region including AASHTO and Eurocode is a must.
Reasonable knowledge on the design of iconic bridges including arch bridges and cable supported bridges.
Proven team management experience gained within a similar environment.
Knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of the design and how it ultimately interfaces with the client.
Understanding of design principles and ability to practically apply them.
Builds positive long term relationships with clients.
