Role Overview As a Network Security Advisor Engineer on the Client Success Onboarding team, you will be responsible for working with new and existing clients to deploy, integrate, and performance “tune” their services as part of the implementation and onboarding experience at SecureWorks. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge security technologies such as next generation firewalls, IDS/IPS’s, sandbox technologies, and endpoint solutions in addition to vulnerability management and log retention solutions. This is a hybrid position that has a broad array of responsibilities with high visibility and room for continued opportunity. The position herein is a critical piece of the client journey. An ideal candidate would demonstrate their competencies and dedication to ensure clients begin their partnership with SecureWorks in a way that promotes satisfaction, ROI, and long-term investment. This role requires both technical acumen and soft-skills to support to diverse assortment of clients each with unique requirements and challenges relating to their information security program.
Role Responsibilities: * Work with internal stakeholders and clients to plan out the details and timelines of their implementation and onboarding considering information both known and unknown. * Discuss technical requirements to implement and properly integrate both third-party and SecureWorks-specific security products, services, and solutions. * Provide guidance on the placement and configuration of security controls while advising on how independent services converge to enable the designed solution. * Implement security services according to defined specifications and change control windows; can include the configuration and installation of firewalls, IDS/IPS’s, and log collection appliances. * Consult to properly integrate clients with unique needs/requirements into an MSSP model. This includes but is not limited to training, processes/procedures, incident escalation, reporting, “tuning” and essential context needed for proper security visibility * Interpret and provide guidance on output from services and promote continuous improvement. * Lead and contribute to projects of varying scales such as upgrades, migrations, and new offerings. * Maintain oneself as a trusted advisor on the threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and exposures. * Provide expert level guidance on reducing attack surface and enhancing detection capabilities. * Work with other teams to develop, mature, and maintain documentation related to the implementation and onboarding of SecureWorks services. * Serve as a technical escalation point for peers or other departments on implementation and onboarding related issues. * Some off-shift work is required.
Requirements: * Solid writing and communication skills to support both technical and non-technical audiences. * Working knowledge of a major ticketing system such a Remedy or ServiceNow. * In-depth knowledge on*nix and Windows operating systems. * Thorough understanding of the TCP/IP stack, network protocols, and routing/switching. * Strong knowledge of security protocols, design concepts, and best practices. * Ability to integrate information security solutions into existing enterprise networks and be able to identify and efficiently troubleshoot complex network issues. * Functional experience at least 5 of the following platforms: Cisco, Checkpoint, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Crossbeam, Sourcefire, Tipping Point, McAfee IPS, LogLogic/Arcsight, Splunk, Imperva, F5, Qualys, Tenable, or Carbon Black. * Ability to read and translate raw logs, packet captures, and metadata from diverse technologies and understand how the desperate visibility provides insight on a broader level. * Exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with peers, management, staff, and internal/external business partners/clients; must have exemplary customer service skills. * Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; should be self-driven and possess a high degree of self-initiative. * Dedicated in being and working to remain well-versed in a wide array of cyber security facets along with threats and their vulnerabilities, common attack vectors, and best practices relative to proactive security controls. *Preferences: * Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Network Engineering, or related discipline and 7 years of relevant work experience. * Prior experiences as a security searcher, analyst, incident responder, or other synonymous security advisory position. * Prior consulting and project management experience. * 7 years of experience with the deployment of at least 2 of the following firewall platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Checkpoint. * 7 years of experience with the deployment and management of at least 2 of the following IDS/IPS platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Tipping Point, Sourcefire, McAfee, or Snort. * Experience with Web Application Firewalls. * Certifications preferred: GCIH, GCIA, GCED, OSCP, CISSP, CCNP Security, CCSE, JNCIS-FWV, or JNCIS-SEC. Location: This is a full-time remote position in Dubai, requiring up to 35% travel. Candidate must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally, with little notice at times. Business-related travel expenses are paid per the governing travel policy.
