The Alstom-led consortium Expolink, also composed of Acciona and Gulermak, has signed a contract with RTA (Roads & Transport Authority) to design and build the extension of Dubai’s Red metro line, also called Route 2020, and upgrade the system of the existing line. The project involves the construction of a 15-kilometre-long line – of which 11.8 kilometers of elevated metro line and 3.2 kilometers underground metro line - branching off the existing red line at the Nakheel Harbour & Tower station.

Purpose of the Job

The Track subsystem builds the Track of the Dubai Metro 2020 project.

The Maintenance/TSA Engineer is in charge to implement and follow-up :

  • Preventive maintenance work orders, issued as per plant suppliers recommendation

  • Curative maintenance work order (repair works), as per events on construction site

  • Site follow-up and plant mobilisation as per maintenance plan, communication with construction team

  • Organisation of workshop: technicians team, spare parts storage, workshop activities, workshop tools

  • Work front TSA set-up and maintenance in coordination with the Operations and Warehouse engineer teams.

Organisational Reporting

This position reports hierarchically to the TSA/Plant and Tools manager.

The Maintenance/TSA Engineer is in charge of the supervision of a team of technicians, such as mechanics, electricians, and welders.

Objectives

  • Respect of the maintenance schedule for each plant

  • Ensure proper maintenance operation as per supplier description

  • Optimize the workshop activities, and space

Responsibilities

For the PREVENTIVE and CURATIVE MAINTENANCE part:

  • Handle the forms of work orders

  • Organise the workshop team activity as per maintenance schedule

  • Ensure proper consumable stock

  • Ensure proper tools for maintenance operation

  • Organise the movements from workshop to jobsite in case of intervention on siteFor the SITE FOLLOW-UP part:

  • Liaise with construction team for plant weekly activity and location

  • Organise maintenance shifts as per plant use schedule

  • Organise maintenance stand-by shift for intervention during night

Follow-up the site electro-mechanical facilities installation

For the WORKSHOP organisation part:

  • Handle the workshop safety, as per maintenance activities

  • Handle the workshop storage for spare parts, tools, consumable

  • Ensure proper work load for each technician team memberFor the Work front TSA part:

  • Set-up and maintain the TSA installations. Supervise installation and coordination of site facilities (power supply, water supply, office, toilets, tanks, generator, lighting)

  • Represent Logistics department in work front TSA daily management activities (monitoring, supplies)

Educational Requirements

Mechanical Engineer, Electro-Mechanical technician

Desired Knowledge / Experience

Minimum 10 to 15 years, in similar position, in track construction projects.

Validated experiences in maintenance of plants, machines and heavy tools used in such large project.

Perfect knowledge of:

  • Hydraulics, mechanics of diesel engine, electro mechanics, low voltage electrical engineering

  • Automatisms networks and systems, and computerized HMI systems

  • Track work plant such as Flash Butt Welding Machine, Rail/Road systems, railway systems, track construction tools

  • Civil works plant such as excavator. Lifting plants such as cranes.

  • HSE management

Behavioural Skills / Competencies

Work under pressure and high tension, reactive to emergency situation.

Leadership, initiative and decision minded.

Knowledge in international environment managerial skills.

Perfect command in English language.

Team spirit approach and good communication skills.
