We are looking for a Principal team member to join our Dubai team.

Key duties:

  • Support on managing relationships with existing clients, fund managers and custodians.

  • The development of new business opportunities across pension, insurance, wealth management and other professional investors in the GCC countries.

  • Prepare and peer review reports for client and research purposes

  • Actively develop cross organizational (MMC) relationships and promote the services of Sentinel.

  • Develop ways to grow the business.

  • Effective internal networking within Mercer to generate new leads

  • Ensure there is a collegiate culture working with Wealth team and Global Mercer Sentinel

  • Mentor and develop core consulting team members.

  • Building networks and raising awareness of Mercer operational consulting capabilities within the professional investment community

  • Attend networking and industry events in the pursuit of new business development opportunities - Sometimes this may involve representing Mercer by presenting at these events.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant commercial, business, finance or accounting discipline. Post graduate qualifications would be advantageous.

  • 10 years securities industry experience (wholesale or retail) in investment operations, product development, funds management, investment consulting or in an advisory capacity.

  • Previous client relationship experience if preferred

  • Arab speaker would be advantageous.

  • Committed to furthering a career path within institutional business development

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build solid working relationships and influence and persuade at senior level (internal and external)

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills

  • Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Self-motivated working style with the ability to work independently on client projects and the ability to work well in a team

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to motivate others

  • Ethical and hardworking

  • Highly disciplined, proactive, with a results driven focus

Qualifications:

  • University level education or equivalent

  • Professional qualification (Actuarial, ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) – preferential requisite

  • In depth understanding of investment manager operations and market participants

  • 5 years plus experience in one of the following areas: audit, regulatory examinations, compliance, operational risks or middle and back office operations.

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Takes ownership for work, always ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date

  • Works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Openly shares information and own expertise with colleagues

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skill
