ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Business Consultant role is an active role that is customer focused and presents challenges. The position requires a combination of strategic and practical experience.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

The consultant needs to have capabilities in the following areas:

  • Independent execution of work packages within any kind of projects

  • Execution of small projects or individual work streams / deliverables

  • Contributes to a functional or business related community

  • Contributes on various sales bids, including RFPs and demand generation

  • Conducts basic value-based business cases for customers

Leadership

  • Independent execution of projects / work streams

  • Demonstrate ability to lead a smaller engagement (time, budget, quality)

Advisory / Delivery

  • Responsible for own capacity utilization / KPIs

  • Review of detailed level business processes and of the corresponding mapping into the IT architecture

  • Evaluate, map and make proposals to align business processes & IT architecture to fit the customer’s strategy

Sales

  • Support business development and support license & services sales in alignment with SAP Service Strategy

  • Support sales in the evaluation process

  • Manage bid processes

Thought Leadership / Innovation

  • Contribute to a functional or business related community

  • Pro-active support Knowledge Management & Innovation activities

One Service / Max Attention Next Generation

  • Support Business Transformation Leads or Service & Support Leads in their role execution

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years experience (ideally partially in consulting)

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :

  • Bachelor, Master (or Equivalent)

  • Professional Presentation & Pyramidal Thinking

  • Customer Communication & Presentation (Mgmt. Level)

  • Meeting Moderation

  • Leadership & Management

  • Sales

  • English: Fluent

Specialized Expertise:

  • Expertise in at least one industry

  • Expertise in at least one line of business

  • Advanced Expertise in at least one (Digital) Business Transformation topic: BPM, Enterprise Architecture, Organizational Change Management, Value Management, Project Management, Innovation Management, Strategic Roadmaps, Cloud Transformation, TCO, Digital Transformation, Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Expertise in at least one additional industry, theme or business topic

Managerial Expertise

  • Functional coordination of teams (internal and external)

  • Acts as a coach for colleagues

Overall SAP Corporate Strategy and SAP Product Strategy Knowledge

Knowledge of the latest SAP Strategy (for example 2015 Digital Transformation Whitepaper) and their related pillars including the capability to discuss this with the customer

SAP Product Knowledge

  • SAP Product Portfolio (on premise and cloud solutions, S/4HANA) / SAP standard solution and service offerings

  • SAP Next Generation solutions and services (e.g. S/4HANA, Fiori (Mobility, UX), Cloud)

  • Industry Solutions (in related industry area)

  • SAP Product Roadmap (in related industry area)

Methodologies & Standards

  • Where applicable, project management methodologies and standards (PMI/PMBOK, PRINCE2 etc.)
