Job Summary

Responsible for the overall direction & management of assigned Project Management contracts.

Establishes and builds professional relationships with Clients, other Consultants and Contractors.

Understands and develops Client Project Brief.

Effectively manages Client expectations.

Prepares and implements Project Management Plans and Procedures.

Coordinates and Interacts with other disciplines within AECOM and with 3 rd parties in relation to Technical, Financial, Safety, Quality, Programme and other elements of a project, to ensure successful execution of the PM scope of services.

Ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.

Responsible for all Contract activities and commercial performance to meet project goals & objectives.

Responsible for managing Safety and Quality performance of projects.

Produces regular effective project reports to both Client and AECOM.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Acts as the Company representative for all day to day Contract matters with the Client during the program execution. Understands and develops Client’s Brief. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and contractors. Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the project.

  2. Takes an active, personal role in the establishment, implementation and management of project Safety Management Systems and Procedures.

  3. Oversees establishment of Package / Project specific briefs, contracts and procedures. Assists the Project Director on matters that cross between interfacing elements, projects or Business Lines.

  4. Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.

  5. Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the assigned project or subtask.

  6. Works with the Project Director to develop construction budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of a project.

  7. Supports the Project Director in the Procurement of other Consultants and Contractors on behalf of the Client.

  8. Assists the Project Director in devising and execution of actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or schedule delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.

  9. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Supports or develops recommendations and action plans to resolve issues affecting or likely to affect the successful execution of the works.

  10. Liaison with Technical Services and Shared services personnel for delivery of design, costs, schedules and overall project support.

  11. Establishes regular meeting to review package status, formulate action items and follows up on close out.

  12. Works proactively, constructively and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of the project,

  13. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Good working knowledge of Internationally-accepted Project Management, construction industry principle and practices / safety / quality management systems.

  2. Good basic understanding of Construction Law. Seeks advice as appropriate.

  3. Good knowledge of design processes and systems.

  4. Good knowledge of current construction technology.

  5. High level of critical thinking, problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills.

  6. Good negotiation skills.

  7. Ability to work in a matrix organisation.

  8. Clear verbal communication skills.

  9. Uses diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties. Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project.

  10. Promotes equality and recognises diversity in managing people. Understands local and international multi-cultural aspects of the UAE.

  11. High level of computer literacy

  12. Minimum 10 years overall experience with 5 years in UAE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in built environment subject

  • Specific Project Management training & qualification and Membership of a Chartered Institution preferred MICE/ MCIOB/ MRICS or working towards
